The only reason pride lifts you up is to let you down, someone says. There is always room at the top for anyone who is willing to say “I will serve”, and means what he says. “There is always room at the top for anyone who is willing to serve and does it with integrity” Zig Ziglar says, “You will always have everything in life that you want if you will help enough people get what they want”.
True leadership begins with service while selfishness always ends in self-destruction – you destroy yourself through all you acquire to yourself and for yourself alone. One of the greatest lessons I have ever learnt about life is that more is always accomplished when nobody (personally) cares who gets the credit.
As a leader, you are called to serve the people you lead.
Tip: Be willing to serve without trying to reap the benefits.
No one is can truly succeed in life until he learns how to serve others.
The Way to The Throne-Room Is Through The Servant’s Quarters; but how many will want to go through the servants’ quarters to get there? The Servant’s Quarter is a house (place) of service.
An old saying that has helped me a lot in life says, ‘One of the most powerful decisions you can make in life is to do something for someone who does not have power or resources to return the favour’. Norman Pearle Vincent also says, “The man who lives for himself is a failure. Even if he gains much wealth, power or position, he is still a failure”
When you believe in nothing and no one but yourself alone, you live in a very small world. The best way to be happy is to forget yourself and focus on other people. Note that Egotism is the only disease where the patient feels well while making everyone else around him fall sick.
Egotism blossoms but bears not fruit. Service is a great factor that catapults you to the next/higher level. You can’t just push yourself forward by patting yourself on the back. One of my favorite quote is, ‘You can’t go forward until you change your favorite word from “I” To “You” Or “We”‘.
